Noa Simon is an aspiring filmmaker who meets businessmen Richard Harrington and Teddy Rosenfeld, both in their 50s, at her friend’s wedding. They are impressed with her filmmaking skills and offer to recommend her for a job as the head of media at their company, Oceanna. There is clear sexual tension between Noa and Teddy from the beginning. The next morning, Noa becomes infatuated with Teddy and begins researching Oceanna. Teddy opens up about his past, including his two sons, Adrian and Milo, and the fact that he’s in the process of divorcing his second wife, Lara. He offers to double Noa’s salary if she joins Oceanna.
Noa starts working at Oceanna, but Teddy warns her that a romantic relationship between them would not work due to his commitment issues. Noa insists she’s okay with a casual relationship and they sleep together. Noa is given a project to create a film for investors visiting Oceanna. She works diligently and impresses Richard and Teddy at the meeting, but struggles with collaborating with other employees, leading to a disagreement with Teddy.
Their relationship is turbulent, combining physical and emotional aspects. Noa shares her estrangement from her mother, Nurit, and focuses on her work. Gradually, Teddy admits his feelings for Noa, and Noa falls in love with him. They continue to face challenges in their personal and professional lives.
Teddy reveals more about his family life, including his mother’s passing and her untouched apartment, which leads to an argument. He advises Noa to take control of her own life to achieve her filmmaking dreams. They spend time apart but reconcile. Noa’s film is screened successfully, and she asks to accompany Teddy on a work trip to Michigan, but he seems disinterested, leaving her questioning their relationship.
Noa’s brother Roy invites her to Jerusalem to visit their grandmother, where he announces his engagement. Noa feels envious. On her way back, she’s involved in a car accident, waking up in the hospital with Teddy by her side. He questions whether it was a suicide attempt, but Noa denies it. She recuperates at Teddy’s apartment, where he casually mentions having coffee with her estranged mother, Nurit, which upsets Noa.
As Noa recovers, she decides to pursue her dream of being a director, with Teddy’s support. She also feels the urge to reach out to her mother and arranges a meeting. Noa and Teddy discuss their expectations for the future. Noa asks Teddy to treat her as an equal and not meddle in her life, while Teddy wants her to avoid putting her life at risk and stay in touch with her mother. They acknowledge their passionate but unsustainable romance and agree to remain in each other’s lives, with Noa visiting Teddy’s apartment regularly.
